Previously I was very negative with my former partners thanks to my upbringing but then I read an article that has changed my life. It was talking about the different ways you can make sure you live a happy life with your partner. So I decided to try out the tip that I knew I was struggling with (growing up with pessimistic parents who managed to find the bad in everything) and I made a commitment that in my new relationship I will always try to focus on the good things and try to overlook if he does something I’m not all that happy with. I’m telling you, this is magic! We’re together for 18 years now and I always find a way to concentrate on what’s good rather than what’s bad.

After a while you just run out of ideas on what could be fun to do together and think outside the box. So one day when our son went on a photo walk with his class and came home all happy and energized by the experience, I got really inspired and thought that we should try and do it with my husband too. So one weekend we got out our proper cameras, and went out to take photos. It was really exciting to rediscover our city and look at it with the eyes of a tourist, see all the new developments we haven’t even seen yet and talk about how it all looked just a couple of years ago. We even snapped a few shots of each other and also together what we haven’t done in the longest time. In the evening, we sat down and went through all our photos sipping some nice wine. It was a fabulous day out and an amazing bonding experience – can only recommend.
